We don’t need new structures to fight corruption – Bright Sewu

The Head of Programmes and Deputy Executive Secretary of the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition(GACC) has said that Ghana does not need new structures to fight corruption.

Bright Sewu said the country already has enough structures to fight the canker, however, these structures must be managed by leaders who can guarantee the independence of institutions mandated to fight corruption.

CDD-Ghana to petition CHRAJ over corruption allegations against Deputy MASLOC CEO

The Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has disclosed that it will petition the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to further probe corruption allegations leveled against Deputy CEO of Masloc, Abibata Shani Mahama Zakaria.

According to the Centre’s Corruption Watch arm and it’s partners, there is evidence following investigations that the Deputy CEO of MASLOC breached the provisions of the Constitution when she distributed public funds to supporters of the governing NPP during the party’s primaries last month.

Monetisation is a new password to Ghanaian politics – Political communications lecturer laments

A political communications lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has lamented the normalcy attached to vote-buying in the country’s politics.

Zakaria Tanko stated that the indifference attached to the electoral misconduct has given the perpetrators some confidence to openly confess to engaging in the act.

The lawyer speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Wednesday described how many politicians feel the need to give voters some form of inducement to gain their mandate.
