ASEPA petitions Special Prosecutor to probe Frontiers-Airport COVID-19 testing contract

The Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has petitioned the Special Prosecutor, Mr Kissi Agyebeng to investigate circumstances that led to the contractual agreement between the Frontiers Health Services contract and the Ghana Airport Company Limited with regards to the mandatory COVID-19 testing at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

The Frontiers Health Services was contracted to conduct mandatory COVID-19 tests for travelers at the airport at a cost of $150 per head.

There have been several concerns about the contractual agreement and cost of the test among others.

People are using Covid-19 to engage in grand corruption – Kofi Bentil

Senior Vice President of IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil has stated that some individuals are riding on the Covid-19 pandemic to exploit the country and engage in grand corrupt schemes.

Mr Bentil speaking on Newsfile, June 12, told JoyNews that both the past and current government have leveraged on crisis that hit the country and some cases, globally to indulge in shady activities.

Investigate Frontiers Covid-19 testing contract at KIA – Vitus Azeem

Anti-graft campaigner Vitus Azeem is demanding a probe into circumstances leading to the signing of the Covid-19 testing contract at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

It follows details alleging that the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) was short-changed by Frontiers HealthCare Services which was contracted by the government to conduct Covid-19 tests.

Documents sighted by JoyNews show that the company agreed to pay $10 to the GACL per antigen test conducted.
