Dampare is working to detach the police from corruption, unholy tag – ACP Kwesi Ofori

The Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori, has said the Inspector of General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare is on a mission to restore the image of the law enforcement agency.

According to him, the IGP has a clear vision and direction upon which he is going to deliver his mandate.

ACP Kwesi Ofori made this known on Saturday, October 30, 2021, on Joy FM’s Newsfile.

He added that the IGP has made it clear to all police officers that, issues of corruption and other unholy acts will not be countenanced under his leadership.

I never undermined Domelevo – Akufo-Addo to CSOs

“The questions regarding Mr Domelevo’s date of birth which formed the recent basis for the President’s letter were not handled in accordance with the Constitutional directive in Article 23. The actions of the office of the President and the Audit Service affirm our belief that Mr Domelevo has been unfairly targeted,” the Coalition’s Spokesperson said.

Council of State cannot fight corruption – Vitus Azeem tells Akufo-Addo

Anti-Corruption campaigner and Executive Director of Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), Vitus Azeem says he is not sure of the capacity of the Council of State in the fight against corruption.

He believes the Council can only contribute to the fight as an advisory body but has no powers to fight the menace as stated by President Akufo-Addo during their (Council of State) swearing-in ceremony.

Monetisation is a new password to Ghanaian politics – Political communications lecturer laments

A political communications lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has lamented the normalcy attached to vote-buying in the country’s politics.

Zakaria Tanko stated that the indifference attached to the electoral misconduct has given the perpetrators some confidence to openly confess to engaging in the act.

The lawyer speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Wednesday described how many politicians feel the need to give voters some form of inducement to gain their mandate.
